Okies so this is a story I started writing around about a month, two months ago. Its from Nyy's eyes and is currently four chapters long but for sure it will be a lot longer and I'll post it up chapter by chapter. I dont have a title for it yet but I'm working on that.
    Enjoy Very Happy

    Chapter One
    The Losing.

Everything screamed at me not to go, not to leave my cave. Something was going to happen but what I did not know. I slowly opened my eyes and lifted my head off my paws, yawning lightly. I got to my feet and stretched; my joints popping loudly before walking to the mouth of my cave, my claws clinking on the floor. It was a crescent moon tonight and a crisp cool wind blew from the north, ruffling the red and black fur along my head and back. I watched the stars twinkling in the indigo sky before then unfurling my wings and jumped out of the cave and glided over the landscape, the moonlight glinting off my scales. I soared over the trees, darted around mountains and flew down a waterfall making sure to pull up at the last second to not go into the water. I flew along a ridge and stopped at the end, my tail flicking slightly at the sight before me. There Sharlaren castle stood proudly, melting into the mountain behind it. I started forward, my black scales blending me into the night sky, my bat like wings sweeping greatly but quietly through the air, giving no sign of my approach. I dived down and gripped onto the castle ramparts, some of the stone wall crumbling beneath my claws and turned my head to the left as I heard the shouts and the clattering of armour as the two guards ran up to me, weapons drawn.
“Oh Nyy.” Said one, sighing in relief. “Its just you.”
“You gave us quite the scare.” Said the other putting his sword back in its scabbard. “We thought that you were another dragon coming to attack us.”
I chuckled. “Hello boys. May I have safe passage up to the King? I really don’t feel like being shot at with arrows.”
“Of course.” Said the first guard. “We shall spread the word.”
“But I’m just wondering.” Said the second guard. “What business do you have with our King?”
The other guard hissed at him. “Stop prying!”
I smiled. “That’s quite alright. He sent a messenger to me yesterday evening requesting my presence. Besides the King is an old friend of mine.”
    They both nodded.
“Nyy.” Said the first guard. “Just remember, the King is going through a tough time at the present with the death of his son.”
It was my turn to nod and the guards ran off in separate directions spreading the word that I would be flying over.
I pushed off the ramparts and back up into the night sky and flew over the castle wall and above the lower town, the light of the torches glinting off the blood red on my underbelly and undersides of my wings. The moonlight shined down brightly upon the courtyard at the top of the castle at which I landed. There was a rustle of leaves from the many trees and the bubbling sound of water from the fountain with a centaur statue on top, water gushing from the tip of its arrow that was pointed up at the sky. There was a padding of footsteps as a man in his fifties ran up to me, his elegant royal blue robes flowing out behind him. I lowered my head to the cobblestones as my gesture of respect.
    “Greetings King Zalis.” I said.
He placed a ringed hand on my snout.
    “Good evening Nyyrikkia.” Zalis replied.
“Why did you send for me your majesty?” I asked.
“Do I need a reason to see my good friend?” He then turned on his heel and walked away. “Come for a walk with me.”
I followed his command and immediately followed him. We walked side by side, man and dragon around the courtyard.
“Actually Nyy.” Zalis said after a few minutes. “I do have a reason for you being here. I wanted to thank you for being hospitable to my Kingdom having not attacked us.”
“I would only attack your Kingdom if you attacked me first but you have not done so.”
King Zalis stopped by a large oak tree and sat on the elaborately carved stone bench underneath its sprawling branches. I sat beside him staring at the fountain; waiting for him to speak. It was a few minutes before he did.
“Also Nyy. I want your alliance to my Kingdom.”
“But you already have it. I will protect it as fiercely as I can.”
He nodded. “And you alliance to me.”
I felt confused at this. What did he mean?
But before I could ask I heard something behind me, I jumped to my feet whirling around to see a cloaked figure standing in the shadows of the tree, a glowing sliver mist forming in his hand, figures standing behind him. I hissed at the Warlock, the fur along my head and back rising up but before I could do anything to protect myself, the mist was sent toward me. It engulfed me in only a couple of seconds and I felt every muscle in my body freeze, I choked on the fumes as I tried to breathe in only to have it go down my airway; a sharp pain tore through my body before I blacked out.

I couldn’t move, every muscle in my body felt like lead. I could feel something wrapped around my back legs but something else was wrong. There was no weight of the wings on my back. It might just be my imagination. Instead I tried remembering what had happened before I blacked out. The mist, the Warlock and King Zalis. The Warlock must have been acting on his own accord; the King would never betray me. It was the only explanation, I tried to open my eyes but my eyelids felt too heavy. Urgh, the effects of the spell must still be on me. What was that anyway? Coming up with no answers I just listened to my surroundings. Quiet wailing split through the air every few minutes or so, I could faintly hear the sound of dripping water, the occasional clinking of chains and the sounds on metal boots clanking on the floor as a guard walked past. Where was I? Then I heard a sound close to me that would have made me jump twenty feet into the sir if I could have moved. The heavy breathing continued beside me as if sleeping. My racing heart slowed, it didn’t seem like I was in immediate danger. I then decided to join the unknown creature in sleep.

A voice awoke me what seemed like minutes later. How much time had passed?
“Has she awoken?” The unknown voice said.
“Not yet Sir.” The other replied.
“She should soon. It’s been two days. Once she awakes summon me.”
    Two days?
“Yes Sir. Do you think he’ll be pleased?”
“Indeed he will. She’ll serve our Kingdom very well. I’m thinking that we have the position of assassin open.”
Wait…what? Assassin? Oh no, this cannot be happening. They honestly can’t be thinking that I will be-
A sudden growl from beside me interrupted my panic attack. There was the sound of dragging chains as the creature ran past me, its paws thudding heavily on the ground and the clang of bars as it launched at the two men.
“Bloody hell!” One of the men shouted.
I heard the sound of the man jump back into the opposite wall. There was a quiet muttering and I saw a flash of light from underneath my closed lids. The creature whimpered and walked back over to me and curled up at my back.
“Stupid tiger.” One of the voices grunted.
There was a soft swish of a cloak and the clatter of boots as the two departed.

I next woke in a very uncomfortable position. I was on my back and something was sitting on my chest, its cool breath blowing onto my face. Hang on…I was on my back…I twitched the tip of my tail and moved my leg slightly. I could move again. The creature on my chest shifted slightly as I moved. I froze into place. Was it going to attack me? I then braved the decision to open my eyes. Its face was just inches away from my own, looking into my eyes, I stared back; trying to figure out why it was so big or I was so small.
The tigress smiled and jumped off me.
    “You’re finally awake.” She said.
I groaned, sitting up and staring at her. She wasn’t a tiger at all. She crouched in front of me, flicking her furred tail back and forth. She had the head and the paws of a white tiger but had a body of a human and instead of skin she still had fur. She was clothed in a long black cloak, her black and white hair falling into her blue eyes and a collar was fastened around her neck.
“What are you?” I blurted out, I know that it was rude but I had to know.
    “I’m half-human, half-tiger.” She replied. “Just like you’re half-human, half-dragon.”
No, that’s not right. “No I’m not. I am pure dragon.”
She shook her head. “Not anymore.”
What the hell is she going on about? “You are mistaken tiger.” She’s insane. I’m a dragon, not what she’s babbling on about.
“You are half-human, half-dragon.” She argued.
    “Are not!” I rebutted.
    “Are too!” She stated.
    “Am not!” I growled.
    “Am too!” She stated again.
How childish. I cannot believe that I was having this stupid argument.
“I am a dragon and that’s final.” I said looking away from the silly creature.
“I saw them change you.” The tigress said sadly.
I looked back at her. “Prove it!” I hissed.
She sighed, reaching out with her black and white striped arm and pushed the water bucket beside her toward me. As I stretched out my front leg I did a double take, my four taloned dragon paw had a human like quality and was attached to a jet black human arm. Okay! That’s not normal! I jumped up onto all fours but overbalanced and fell to the ground, falling onto my side.
“Stand on your back legs.” The tigress suggested.
I pushed myself back up and crouched before rising up on what used to be my hind legs. I swayed unsteadily before regaining my balance. I slowly turned around in a circle, my tail following the circle. I was wearing a black cloak like the tiger, the jet black scales that still covered my body blending into the cloak. I looked down at my feet, they had the shape of human feet but were dragon-like with claws at the end of the long toes and glittering gold chains were attached around my ankles that were chained to the wall. It was then I noticed the lack of weight on my back again, I tried flapping my wings but there was nothing. I turned around in a fast circle, trying to see them but I couldn’t see anything either.
“Are there wings on my back?” I asked the tiger.
    She shook her head.
I lurched toward the water bucket, my paws gripping the sides as I stared at my reflection. My ice blue eyes were wide with shock as I stared at myself. I still had my dragon head only that my snout was a little shorter, two fangs curled out of my upper jaw. That was normal but what wasn’t was the long black and red hair instead of my fur that fell over my shoulders and hung around my face. Two small sharp horns poked through my hair at the top of my head and a flare of blood red started at the underside of my chin and trailed downwards, disappearing under the cloak. I lifted up my paw and touched the side of my face and I could feel the tiger’s paw upon my back as tears fell out of my eyes and joined the water in the bucket below. She was right.
“What-what did they do-do to me?” I choked.
“The same thing they did to me.” She replied gently. “Come and sit down and I will explain what I can.”
I stood up, still a little shaky as I walked, following her over to a mattress in a corner that I hadn’t noticed before. She sat down on it, the springs creaking and pattered the space beside her. I lowered myself down and indicated for her to continue.
“King Zalis befriended me around about a year ago.” The tigress started. “I was the leader of the tiger pack in this area and by being a white tiger among other things I had special powers.”
“What do you mean by ‘had’?” I asked.
“I was getting to that. One night he invited me here and I was attacked by the Warlock. Next thing I knew I was half-human, half-tiger.” Her voice turned into a hiss. “My powers were gone. Taken. Stolen from me. I sometimes get sent on errands every now and then.”
My mouth felt dry. “And how long have you been in here?”
“A few months but you lose track of time in here.” She said quietly. “Each one of these cells contains a creature that the King once befriended and has been changed into a half-human.”
I began to feel sick in my stomach. “But why?”
“For our magic. Power hungry he is.”
“And what’s he doing with our magic?”
“I don’t know.” She whispered. “I wish I did know.”
Silence fell upon us. I tried drawing upon my shadows but to my horror and frustration nothing happened. I huffed and folded my arms, tapping my foot on the ground, the claws clinking on the floor.
The tiger watched me amused. “What’s your magic?” She asked.
“I’m a Shadow Dragon. I have lots of abilities. You?”
“I have control of the elements.” She replied. “I was born with the power to control water.”
I sat there thinking for a few minutes about what she had told me.
“You said that he sends you out on errands.” I said. “Why not escape on one of them?”
“I can’t.” The tiger said quietly looking at her paws. “Once he has your powers your alliance is to him, you have to do everything her tells you to do.”
She sighed and curled up on the mattress and I copied, lying on my back. I stared at my dragon hand in the moonlight flittering through the barred window, twisting it in many ways before putting it back down at my side, breathing a heavy sigh.
“I don’t know your name.” The tigress murmured.
    “Nyyrikkia.” I said softly.
“Niala.” She said back yawning. “Goodnight Nyyrikkia.”
    “Night Niala.” I whispered.
I rolled over onto my side and looked at her face. She seems like she would be a good friend but I just hope that it’s a nightmare…

Hooray for Niala! Also I think I need more charcters for later on so if you are interested let me know Very Happy
